Our Services Here is a list of our primary services

Surgical Operations

Our surgery area is equipped with safe gas anesthesia along with a respiratory monitoring system. We perform many routine soft tissue surgeries such as spay, neuter, de claw, hernia repair, and growth removals. We also offer advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. We do bone plates or pins along with splints and casts for broken bones, thus affording your pet the best options we can. We also offer in house pre-anesthetic screening tests, comprehensive pain management options, and a warm quiet recovery area to make your pet's surgical experience the safest and most comfortable it can be.

Companian Animals

At Mountain View Animal Clinic your pet’s health is our top priority, and excellent service to you is our goal. Our team of individuals is dedicated to the health and well-being of your pets. We strive to make your pet’s visit to our office as comfortable for them as we possibly can. We also provide after-hours emergency service for our clients as we know that the closest emergency clinic is a hundred miles away in Springfield. We offer a full range of services for your pet. These include routine and advanced surgical procedures and diagnostic workups as well as routine checks and vaccinations.

Large Animal Services

We work with horses, cattle, small ruminants, and other non-pet animals. We offer Ambulatory services as well as haul in facilities for all your large animals. For farms with small to large herds we understand that it is important that they choose a large animal veterinarian with the flexibility to perform a range of services. Our large animal practitioners are well versed in providing a number of preventative, medical and surgical options. We perform farm calls which provide us with the opportunity to observe farm conditions and better tailor our advice to help the farm owner have his livestock perform at top levels of production. In general, our services include: Farm Calls, herd work, emergency services, supplying necessary vaccines and antibiotics, and consulting with you on how to best use these products and the information we can provide.

Pet Boarding Service

Boarding is available for cats and dogs of all sizes. Cat condos, cages and runs are used for boarding, all cages are cleaned daily or more often as needed. All pets are required to have current Rabies vaccinations. Dogs are required to be current for Distemper/Parvo combinations and Kennel Cough, and Cats must be current for upper respiratory viruses.
For your pet's comfort, all of the boarding facilities are in heated and air conditioned rooms. Dogs are walked twice a day on leash and all animals are fed "Science Diet" quality food twice a day. All clean bedding and healthy food is provided, but you may bring their favorite toys or you may provide your pet's food if you desire. Just a note: During major holidays we do book up early so be sure to make your reservation well ahead of time.

Pet Grooming

Grooming services are provided for all breeds of dogs and cats. Routine grooming includes cutting the hair, bathing, nail trims, and cleaning the ears. All pets must be current on their rabies vaccinations. Appointments are necessary as our grooming schedule frequently books up a week in advance.

Dental Services

Dental health is of primary importance to maintaining the general health of your pets. This includes regular check-ups and dental cleaning as needed. Keep your pet healthy with preventative health care. It's less expensive in the long run and keeps your pet pain free.

Feed and Nutrition Services

We offer nutritional counseling for our food animal clients. Many times your herd's health can be improved by simply modifying your feed formula so that it compliments your grazing and pasture conditions. By having a healthy herd you can expect more pounds of beef from the same number of cows. Just as important to pet owners is the feeding of the correct food to your pets. We sell Hill’s Science Diet and Prescription diets for both dogs and cats. Hills have only premium quality foods for your pet which generally negates the need for supplements. For special needs, pets with medical issues, prescription diets are recommended.

Microchipping

We can microchip your pet at your next veterinary visit. A microchip is inserted with an injection. The microchip is about the size of a grain of rice. We use the DATAMARS microchip which includes the permanent registration of your pet. The microchip is of value for lost pets and providing proof of ownership. If your pet becomes lost and is taken to a shelter or veterinary clinic, they can scan your pet to read the ID code on the microchip. They can then call the appropriate registry to notify them the pet has been found. The registry will call the owner to reunite them with their pet at that time.

Laser Therapy

Here at MVAC we are staying current with new technologies that help us provide your pets with the best quality of care and therefore the best quality of life. One of the new technologies we offer is laser therapy. Therapy lasers deliver a therapeutic wavelength of energy that stimulates a photo biochemical cascade of events at the cellular level that relieves pain, reduces inflammation and increases circulation. All of these effects result in accelerated healing. There are many conditions that benefit from laser therapy. Arthritis, inter vertebral disk disease, ear infections, wounds, abscesses, fractures and hot spots to name a few. Virtually any pet that is experiencing pain or inflammation is a candidate for this form of treatment. Therapy is typically performed every other day for a couple of weeks then weekly as needed. We also recommend post surgical and post dental laser therapy on a case by case basis.

Emergency Services

The Veterinary Clinic does provide after hours emergency veterinary service for our regular customers or traveling/out-of-town customers. If you have an after hours emergency, please call (417) 934-2323. The answering machine will forward the call. We are not a full service emergency clinic so no one stays on the premises after hours. You must contact the veterinarian and arrange to meet him/her before you head to the clinic. The veterinarian can also help answer your questions to help determine whether your emergency is urgent or whether it can wait until the next business day. Please understand that payment is expected at the time of services for emergencies as well. Thank you for trusting us with your pets.

Financial Assistance Program

Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) checks and cash. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well. We understand this and are able to make some special arrangements through the CareCredit program. It takes just 5 minutes to complete an application and will allow you to break down your payment into monthly installments. You can either apply at our hospital, where we'll call in your application over the phone for immediate approval, or apply yourself online at: www.CareCredit.com.

Walk-in Emergency Service

Although we generally schedule appointments, if there is an emergency, just come on in. We will work you in as soon as possible.

Medications

Medications will be provided to all patients that need them, providing the Vet has examined your animal and determined that it needs a prescription. Prescriptions are not filled without an exam.

OTC medications

Over the counter medications are readily available for all animals without an examination. We handle a full line of shampoos, skunk smell eliminators, tick and flea controls and many other competitivly priced products!
